LATE AUTUMN AND EARLY WINTER

The Master said:

By taking imagination seriously, beyond the level of mere personal fantasy, it tends
to structure itself to major archetypal patterns.

Synchronicity is the key. By using tables of correspondences to project and create
the archetype, a literal reality is created. We should not separate our sciences
and technologies from a religious context.

Late Autumn to Early Winter

September (Mabon) is the Autumn Equinox and completes the harvest begun at Lammas. Mother Nature selects dramatic colours of red, gold, yellow-orange, and earthy browns in exotic patterns for her bright, swirling leaves. She draws back her bounty in readiness for the winter and moves her alchemical laboratory beneath the surface of the earth. At this time the Oak tree drops it own harvest of acorns, these then feed and nourish the forest animals as they stock their larders in readiness for hibernation and the bleak cold months of the coming winter. see index for The Grasshopper and the Ants

The Sacred Dance Recently, the National Film Board of Canada sponsored a three-part series on woman’s spirituality. Luisah Teish, an African American who was raised Catholic and is now reclaiming her African spiritual roots, had this to say:

The more I listened to what they had to say about the great, bearded, white man in the sky, the more I realized he was nobody I could talk to. You couldn’t say nothing to the dude. He didn’t answer prayers, and he could go off on you at any minute and you were supposed to be grateful no matter what he did. This is nobody who made any kind of sense to me so, in my naïveté, I put him down and hung with Mary.

THE SCORE

Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro in The Score
Director: Frank Oz 2001

Don Corleones I and II finally meet face to face. With everything on the line and an offer they cannot refuse, the fence [Brando] and master thief [De Niro] decide it's time to end their successful run with one last, memorable job.

The plan to rob a priceless scepter from Montreal's Customs House is devised by an ambitious and cynical new comer [Edward Norton] neither partner trusts very much. There is a subtle and gripping fight between both theives, De Niro and Norton, over ownership rights to the scepter, a symbol of skill, just counsel, and sovereignty. De Niro is the most complex character because he leads a double life, while Norton is a just soft-shoe shuffler. De Niro has a gorgeous fiance [Angela Bassett] and moves throughout his neighborhood as a responsible citizen and owner of a legitimate jazz nightclub. Why wouldn't he want to quit and go straight? Challenges and temptations that approach us during the final weeks of autumn and early weeks of winter seem to infuse a lot of abrasive subtext under the surface of this thrill-filled caper.

Delightful cameos: jazz greats Cassandra Wilson and Mose Allison with a perfect score by Howard Shore.

TREE OF LIFE
Gustov Klimt

Jasmine is traditionally sacred; roots are sacred to Yesod because Yesod is the Root of the Tree of Life exactly as the reproductive function is the root of the life of man. It is important not to suppose that Malkuth, Nephesch, is the root of reality. Malkuth is a pendant to the Tree, a sensory illusion which enables it to perceive itself.

Most artists and designers will give more importance to warm colours than to cool ones because of their more dynamic qualities and their stronger chroma or intensity.

Combined or complex colours have names borrowed from various sources: Purple comes from the name of a shellfish.
Bougainvillea, fuchsia, lilac, orange, orchid, rose, violet, and on, all refer to growing things such as flora and herbs that grow above the earth's surface.
Crimson, vermilion, carmine are taken from words associated with insects and worms.
Emerald, ruby, sapphire, turquoise are precious stones.
Gold, rust cobalt, terra cotta are minerals.
Apricot, cherry, champagne, cranberry, eggplant, lemon, lime, chocolate, olive, peach, plum, and tangerine are familiar edible products.
Salmon, camel, canary, cardinal, robin’s egg blue are fish, animals and birds.
Delft, Nile, Sienna, Magenta are places.

STAR WARS

A LONG TIME AGO
IN A GALAXY
FAR, FAR AWAY…

History of the Jedi Knights and Sith Lords

Year Zero 0 The events of Star Wars Episode 1
The Phantom Menace
unfold according to the will of the Force

The Galactic Republic was in turmoil. The greedy Trade Federation wanted control of all trade routes and had unlawfully surrounded the peaceful planet of Naboo with hundreds of giant warships.

Two Jedi Knights – Qui-Gon Jinn and his young apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi – were sent by the Republic’s Supreme Chancellor, Valorum, to settle the dispute. As the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy, Jedi were the perfect choice to handle the difficult situation – before it led to war ....

"I have a bad feeling about this," Obi-Wan Kenobi said to his Master, Qui-Gon Jinn.

The two Jedi Knights waited inside the massive battleship that served as the headquarters for the Trade Federation fleet. Their own vessel was docked in the battleship’s vast hangar, and they had been escorted to this conference room by a shiny Federation protocol droid.

Obi-Wan had sensed trouble from the moment they arrived.

"Don’t center on your anxiety." Qui-Gon instructed his apprentice. "Be mindful of the living Force. These Trade Federation types are cowards. The negotiations will be short."

· In my lifetime, there have been three occasions when credible intelligence gathering indicated potential threats to the American homeland—first, radio interceptions in the months preceding the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941; second, in the photos of Soviet missiles in Cuba in 1962; and third, intelligence reports in the months leading up to the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Each involved different facts and circumstances. Only in 1962 did our government and military readiness thwart the attack.

Frodo looks in the mirror - Galadriel's Glade

THE LORD OF THE RINGS

Tolkien's trilogy traces several ancient riddles and pivotal mystic themes into the story of Middle-earth. Many are concerned with mastery of metals and all skills required to transmute, infuse, and forge all the ores correctly. Alchemical gold is considered the most prized as the strongest of all metals.

In Middle-earth, the quest for Mithril, a mysterious magical ore of super-strength, secured by dwarves in deeper Moria Mines, provides a mini history about Middle-earth commerce, trade and geography. Some stories about the prosperity of the dwarves who mined Mithril run parallel to the fairy stories about legendary wealth of European dwarves. They hid huge caches of gemstones, magic artifacts, and precious treasure.
Tradition also refers to the Druids as master alchemists who probably fashioned their tools from alchemical gold. Druids had well guarded secrets about the time and details for any ritual that involved the harvest of sacred mistletoe, probably with a ceremonial knife of alchemical gold.

Black Family Members
Here posted disowned family members for disagreeing with the belief in pure-blood supremacy, being "blood traitors," or marrying a Muggle, Muggle-born or a half-blood wizard. The Black Family Tree reveals disowned relatives with a burned black circle where once appeared the portrait and name of the family member. The Black Family civil war in the Harry Potter series, between nuclear and extended members of the family is, in part, a symbol of the time of year and night sky constellations [Scorpio, Sagittarius, and a.m. of the Winter Solstice, before Sol enters Capricornus] when the day is short and nocturnal hours are longer.
